Numerous Societies Have Loved Honda Motorbikes

Honda motorcycles were developed by Soichiro Honda, yet his obsession was vehicles. He started mastering the mechanical side of automobiles while still a teeenager, working in a repair shop, and he loved racing and fast driving. He acquired a good amount of experience with riding motorcycles, because he had both an Indian, and a Harley.

It was only when he was 41, in 1948, that Honda began his Honda Motor Company, but he had already owned an auto repair shop, starting way back in 1928. He believed he must design it well, and make it well, to compete well, so his primary focus was on design, followed by quality. Despite motorcycle profits being on an ascending trend in 1953, the economic depression in Japan almost ruined his company. Although an limited number of sales were being completed, he kept his factory going because he disliked the thought of taking work away from people. The intelligence of this judgement was borne out in 1958, by the release of what became the most successful motorcycle in the world, the C100 Super Cub. The bike, which included a three speed transmission along with a four-stroke motor, was a versatile bike that was cheap and could be used by anyone.

Not only could new owners operate it readily, but it became a way of commuting for women. The recognition of this bike skyrocketed Honda to the number one position by amount of motorcycle makers in 1959. They decided that it was time for growth all over the world. They needed to set a precedence, and so they made a decision to come to the United States. They believed if their items were accepted by the American people, they would certainly win over the rest of the world as well. June of 1959 denoted the first time a Honda could be purchased from a retail store in America, especially in Los Angeles, and the number of well-to-do dealerships had mushroomed to over 75 just a year later.

By making available half the funding for two important organizations, Honda exhibited their commitment to the community and won a huge amount of public trust for their company. These were the Motorcycle Industry Council, along with the Motorcycle Safety Council, both highly prized by fans of motorcycles. Honda continued to develop new motorcycles during the 1970′s, which people couldn’t get enough of, keeping them atop the industry. In 1973 Honda motorcycles were the victors of over 70 races around the globe, and they were soon renowned as the speediest available. Many other bike companies were quick to hop on the bandwagon, when, in 1975, touring bikes became fashionable as well as comfortable, following the introduction of the GL1000 Gold Wing.

Countries world wide remain obsessed as Honda keeps producing motorcycles with their trademark appeal. Each year Honda donate a whole lot of motorcycles to what they consider as worthwhile causes, and this helps retain the respect and fondness with which they are regarded. Bike safety keeps benefiting by Honda’s continued funding of training programs and dissemination of valuable information for the promotion of motorcycling safety. For many decades they’ve proven their motorcycles to be one of the most reliable of those manufactured. The success they have accomplished with some of the big risks they have taken has resulted in Honda becoming a virtual emperor of motorcycles.
